WHAT TEMPERATURE IS THE WATER?
The water temperature fluctuates around 35.5 ºC, which is the same temperature as the surface of the skin, so that during the session, your body feels like it becomes one with the water.
WHAT ARE EPSOM SALTS AND WHY ARE THEY USED?
Epsom salts consist of hydrated Magnesium Sulphate crystals. They are salts that are found naturally in many thermal waters, have the particularity of being very soft and have been used for centuries to treat skin conditions and physical pains.
WHAT TO DO WHILE FLOATING?
Floating is a passive relaxation experience in which the body automatically relaxes, but by clearing the mind, thoughts can be “steered” to find new solutions to everyday problems, to meditate or simply to take a break.
WHAT CAUSES THE FEELING OF WELL-BEING?
Several scientific studies suggest that flotation sessions decrease the level of toxic substances in the brain caused by stress and increase the secretion of endorphins, which act as natural painkillers and cause feelings of well-being.
IS THERE ENOUGH AIR IN THE TANK?
Yes, even when the tank is closed, there is enough room for air to circulate inside. In addition, the tank has a ventilation gap which allows for additional air circulation.
WHAT IF IF I HAVE CLAUSTROFOBIA?
The Tranquility Floating Tank is designed to be used with the top door open or closed. It has a emergency battery to open the door & keeps tank light lit for at least 30 minutes in case of a power cut. Also a attendant call button is present. The lid can also be opened manually in emergencies.
WHAT ABOUT HYGIENE?
The water is a 43% saline solution that acts as a strong disinfectant and is completely sterile to prevent the proliferation of any type of bacteria, as happens in the Dead Sea. A powerful filter unit purifies the water every hour and after each session, removing any organic contaminants that may have remained. In addition a disinfection process with hydrogen peroxide keeps the tank microbe and sediment free.
Quality controls are performed on a daily basis to ensure that the water is at optimal PH levels. It has been shown that Floating in a floatation tank is much more hygienic than using a hot tub or public pool.
WHO CAN NOT USE THE FLOATING TANK?
Young people under the age of 16 can only float with the consent of their legal guardian. People suffering from epilepsy who are not under medical supervision. People suffering from severe depression or psychosis should only use the tank in consultation with their therapist. Also problematic: open wounds.
CAN I FLOAT IF I´M PREGNANT?
Although it is always advisable to consult your doctor before flotation, floating is a wonderful way to give your body and baby a break from gravity. When floating in the high-quality Epsom salt solution and at a pleasant 35 degrees, the muscles, spine and soul relax. Many women enjoy making intensive contact with their baby in this safe atmosphere.
CAN I TURN IF I FALL ASLEEP?
The salt solution has a higher specific density than the human body. You will float like a cork on the surface of the water. The back of the head and the ears are immersed in water, the face remains untouched by the salt water. It is not possible to turn around.

- We recommend to take off all jewelry.
- We recommend Floating without contact lenses.
- It is forbidden to Float under the influence of drugs, alcohol and mind-altering drugs.
- Do not Float if your ability to move is limited and you cannot step in and out of the tank by yourself.
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to Float with untreated epileptic diseases, incontinence, nausea and infectious diseases, low blood pressure, thrombosis, nor is it recommended to Float with a heavy cough.
- You should not Float if you have just died your hair, as it can alter the color of the water in the tank.
- We recommend the use of earplugs, which are provided.
- On the floating day, wet shaving or epilation should be avoided. The highly concentrated salt solution can cause a burning sensation on irritated skin. Small wounds or cuts can be smeared in with vaseline beforehand.
- You should not Float with a relatively new tattoo. Usually you can Float again after about 4/6 weeks.
- You can not Float with open wounds.
